After graduating from School for Visual Arts in New York in 1987, she began to draw famous figures in 1990s, the nshe started to paint a series of rock starts such as Kurt Cobain with imageries taken from magazine covers. She paints in a style that emphasised the androgyny, she also idealises, feminizes the male figure in her painting. She then draw pictures of celebrities later start to draw her close friends.
